Used hotel for one night saty whilst taking daughter back to university. Room was clean, comfortable and weel equipped. Hotel was of good standard and staff were attentive. Did not use the restaurant or other facilities in the evening but morning breakfast in the resturant was good. Would use again for a similar trip as there were no problems re access or parking which has been an issue with hotels we've used in the main city centre.
It was a little for me when I got in from the train, and made the 10 min walk from the station, but the bar was nice and staff very friendly. The room was very well equipped and dead quiet. Breakfast in the morning included a choice of hot's - the Eggs Benedict was good, but the house coffee was one of the best I've had in a long time.
I travel a moderate amount, but don't usually bother with a review ... I'd would be happy to make this hotel a regular in York... and especially if you like a nice wine or whiskey.
Stayed in hotel while visiting with granddaughter in Middlesbrough. Somewhat lengthy drive each day but acceptable. Everything about hotel very nice. Food, cleanliness, front desk staff, especially breakfast service staff. Only issue was hangers in wardrobe (in room 124). Majority of them were bent and would not come off holder. Nearly impossible to hang trousers or shirt on hanger unless you can get it out.
Stayed here while we enjoyed a weekend away in Harrogate. Our King Executive room was great value for money for Harrogate hotels, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Tea/coffee in room and a lovely big flat screen TV. Breakfast was excellent and the evening Neal we had was exceptional.
We gad a great weekend here and would definitely return.
This is a perfect escape, ideally situated and atmospheric - especially the beer garden in the evening with the beautifully lit Minister overlooking you. The Hotel and Staff were excellent and the room was comfortable and spotless. The food is definitely worth trying and you will need the walk around the city walls to walk it off !! We will without question be back and will hopefully be able to stay longer.
