When we arrived we were dissapointed to have received the wrong room. We had two twins instead of one double. The front desk initially told me there was nothing they could do about it. I came back with proof that my Expedia booking said a double room (which has a single bed pictured). They found a room with a king bed for us. I am very thankful they pulled through as I am on my honeymoon, twin beds on a honeymoon would have been terrible. I'm not sure whether the problem was on the Hotel's or Expedia's end.

We stayed in the Metropark Wanchai last year and were so impressed that we went back again last week.
Everything ran like clockwork - even got a "welcome back" greeting from the staff during check in. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, tram and bus stops nearby. And only 5min walk to the MTR subway, or 15min to the Star Ferry. It's a great location for independent travellers.
Bathroom is excellent for this standard of hotel. Aircon in the room is noisy, so it may not be quite so good for a summer visit. And the room has limited cupboard/shelf storage space, with little storage for large suitcases.
But we'll certainly be going there next time we visit Hong Kong.

We have stayed many times at The Kowloon Hotel and always have a wonderful visit. It is in an ideal location, right on top of the Metro (TST) and has a lovely view of the harbor. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby as well. The staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We stay in the same room every time on the 17th floor. I definitely recommend including breakfast with your room. It's fantastic!! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are an adequate size for Hong Kong. We will continue to stay in The Kowloon Hotel every time we go to Hong Kong (several times a year).
This is a very central hotel that is easy to get to on the subway and also close to the ferry building.
The area is like a bomb site at the moment with all the construction going on along the waterfront but didn't effect us too much.
