We have stayed at all 3 Disney hotels in Anaheim. For decades the Disneyland Hotel was the only Disney property, and we always enjoyed staying there. But over the years the place started to show its age. We then switched to the Grand Californian for our annual family visit, and it remains our favorite. We tried Paradise Pier last year and found it not up to Disney standards, although the price was reasonable. This year we went back to the (refurbished) Disneyland Hotel, and I must say overall it is back near the top. The rooms are spacious, with updated bathrooms and all the amenities, the service is top notch, and while we still love the architectural grandeur of the Grand Californian, we will probably return to the Disneyland Hotel next year because it is such a value. All of the "Cast Members" that work there are helpful, happy and willing to bend over backwards to make your stay memorable. Stay at the Disneyland Hotel, save a few bucks, and walk through the Grand Californian and admire the architecture.
