I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel Monterey hanzomon and had very few complaints.
Firstly the location is excellent with the underground being right across the road. Also it was close to a very nice bakery just up the road and Starbucks not that much further.
The room was spotless and the bathroom was very attractive and was very well appointed with handy things like shaving kits and toothbrushes and toothpaste.
The bed was great too and room service was very efficient.
The only 2 complaints I have was there was no gym and the breakfast was ok but this didn't matter too much with the bakery being so close.

This hotel is located just a couple blocks from Tsukiji - THE fish market, in the "outer market." The area is home to hundreds of small stores selling every sort of Japanese food ingredients you could imagine, as well as dishes, knives, etc. There are a number of really decent (sushi) restaurants in the area as well.
The staff was very helpful (they answered no less than 2 dozen questions for me over the course of my night stay (trains, busses, restaurants). I speak no Japanese, so I was very excited to find out that most of the front desk staff speaks English.
My room was small, but clean and comfortable.
The wifi was fast and reliable.
I considered various options to room in, but I opted for this hotel and I'm glad I did. You can easily see and do various things in this part of town, but I was able to get anywhere else I needed to very easily. Me not being able to speak Japanese did not factor into my stay since the staff here were absolutely amazing. They were so patient and understanding with me and completely went out of their way numerous times with assuring I understood various directions and instructions. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here in December for the Mooneyes show, and were really happy from arrival to leaving, we stayed for a week. The hotel is a little confusing to find, as Tokyo is soooo busy ! But after a few days, became quite familiar. We felt very safe, and the staff were great, especially the young guy who was on mainly the evenings and into the morning. I'm sorry I can't remember his name, but he spoke brilliant English, and made a booking for us at the Robot resturant, as well as drawing us maps and giving directions and advise on various things. He was so lovely to talk with and nothing was a problem. A great asset to the hotel. Breakfast was great and lots of variety, room was ok, pillows a little uncomfortable, but we were too tired to care at the end of the week ! My advise is to learn done basic Japanese, as English isn't widely spoken. We loved Tokyo and the people, and found most people very respectful and helpful if you show them the same respect. We would love to come back with our children, and will definately stay here again.
