Smaller hotel with strong art deco French character. Excellent value for money especially considering location. Easy walk from JR Tokyo Station, yet in very quiet appealing area of Ginza. Very good Queen bed, room decor & bathroom. Helpful staff but very limited English. Has pleasant glass facade restaurant to Street. Will stay here again for sure. Do not confuse this 'hotel annexe' with the much larger Monterey Hotel a short distance away. Very pleased with Expedia booking service.
Me and my friend stayed at this hotel for two weeks. I'm in my late 20s while my friend is in her early 20s.
This was both our first time in japan. We arrived early morning at 11am, after getting into Tokyo station we decided to walk to the hotel, with the help of google maps I managed to pick up some signal to see where we were in able to locating the hotel. It was a little difficult at the end but we managed to find it in our second go. It was roughly a 25 min walk from the station.
We were greeted by a staff member at the desk who stated check in wasn't till 3pm, but we could pay an additional 1000 yen to check in now. As we were so jet lagged we decided to pay and get into the room earlier.
The lift needed your room key to work and we did have trouble with it occasionally but after speaking to a member of staff she sorted this out for us.
The cleaner was so nice and even showed us where our room was when we arrived.
The room was small but I was expecting that. It was clean and modern. We had a non smoking room on 6th floor with a double bed.
The bed fit us both in and was really comfortable, only thing I found a little hard was the pillow which seemed it had beads within it making it crunchy.
The bathroom was tin, but again I was expecting that. The toilet was modern and was one that had a warm seat which was good for those cold days. Shower was excellent and very powerful and warm. You got big bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Also within the bathr
Efficient friendly English speaking check in staff.
Room as described - everthing worked.
Single room had a big bed although it took up most of the space.
2 minutes from Underground train.
Internet worked perfectly.
I would stay here again.
An older looking hotel with a small simple reception, original tiles and features and has good bedrooms. It is very close to the Ginza and Higashi Ginza subway stations. Asakusa for Senso-ji is only a few stops on the Higashi Ginza line. The staff were very helpful and there always seemed to be an English speaker available. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for suitcases. There was even a small wardrobe. We asked for extra pillows and they arrived very quickly. There were loads of places very close for coffee and breakfast first thing. On our last evening we found a restaurant opposite the hotel called Tofuro advertising 'Edo' food. The menu looked good, but when we took the lift down to B2, the place was just amazing! It was like walking out into an old Edo street, with reconstructed buildings housing the tables on different levels (a bit like the Shambles in York museum). We were really pleased with our food, and loved the fact that the Japanese kids there were just as amazed as us! The hotel is a 10 min taxi ride to the T-Cat for the Limousine bus to Narita.
stayed on 19th May 2014 with a friend for 70usd/night, 1min walk to exit 2 tawaramachi station on ginza line (G17), reasonable space of room for japan standard, clean room, excellent power shower, very comfy pillow and mattress. they kept our luggage after check out. 10-15min walk to sensoji temple Receptionist very helpful & try their best to make us understand their english. will come back to this hotel for next japan trip. Highly recommended
The hotel staff was very helpful upon check in was given maps of the area and told of very good resturants close to hotel to go to and where the subway stops are. Needed to mail a package to someone and was provided with box and label written in japanese by a very helpful front desk. very nice resturants in hotel also. would recommend this hotel for location and very good staff.
