"Very nice hotel in a fake new town"
Although the newly developed neighborhood gives one the eerie impression of having been built for a theme park or movie set (note the fact that the town has been renamed from Grover to Wildwood), the hotel itself is wonderful. The floors are numbered European style (the 3rd floor is actually what Americans would call the 4th). Both the neighborhood and the hotel are quiet (which contributes to the movie-set feeling), and check-in was quick and easy. Our room was very nice and completely clean. The king-size bed had a very soft pillow-top, and the bedding was upscale: a woven cotton blanket sandwiched between two sheets, with a down-alternative duvet over the top, and four square (not rectangular) pillows that were equally comfortable. We had an in-room jacuzzi with a truly awesome design: the combination of mirrors and pillars made it look like a Roman rotunda from inside, and two sets of toiletries (and bathrobes) were provided. The development is located along Manchester Rd, part of historic route 66. If you drive toward downtown St. Louis as far as Maplewood, the road narrows and the buildings become older, with upscale shops (mostly newer chain stores until then, including a large mall). While it's about 30-45 min to downtown St. Louis by freeway, if you're going to be spending a lot of time downtown and you hate city freeway traffic, this probably isn't the best hotel location. But if you're looking to just kick back and relax in a nice hotel, this is the place.

"Great location, not too many perks"
The positive: the hotel room was clean and comfortable, the view of the St. Louis arch was awesome, staff was friendly, felt very safe, within walking distance to the metro The negative: no continental breakfast, we had to reactivate the key card everyday or we couldn't use the elevator to get to the room, staff wasn't too helpful or prompt with anything that was requested For the price I expected more, but I would probably return to this hotel as long as I couldn't get a better deal elsewhere.

"Nice boutique hotel"
Stayed for 2 nights as part of a conference. Overall, it was a very friendly experience. I had one issue with the room I had reserved (which was done via Expedia) but the front desk manager was able to quickly resolve to my satisfaction. Well done. The only real complaint that I would have is the water pressure (especially cold water) was very low! Other than that, the property was great and the meeting rooms were equally as nice for the size of group attending. Would stay here again.

"It's not the Chase Park Plaza"
If you want a clean functional room in a hotel that has a very friendly and responsive staff for a reasonable price, this is the place for you! Breakfast is included but is somewhat average with frozen fruit (which is not always defrosted completely before you bite into it...hope you don't have any unfilled cavities!), buiscuits that are clearly not made onsite, and dry overcooked scrambled eggs. But what the hey, it's a fast breakfast and included in the price. Cudos to the hotel for not overcharging for parking. In Chicago, every hotel charges 45 bucks per night for self park. Here it is only $7!! It is also dog friendly!

Great staff, great location, amazing lobby and quirky place overall made the stay very good, although the rooms are very old and out dated.

"Nice location and reasonable price!"
I took my family for my son's graduation ceremony at Washington University last week and booked this hotel nine months ago. I am very happy with the service, especially they offered free WiFi. Breakfast is average but saves you the trouble to drive to another place just to get your breakfast. Parking is totally separate from the hotel building but is only cross the street (Olive Drive).

"Odd room, but nice amenities and staff"
Will dispense with the one issue we had--housekeeping. Very nice staff who I am afraid just needed additional help the days we were there. We were out and about all day (stayed only 2 nights so needed housekeeping only after first night to refresh towels and tissue) and came back after 5:30pm and our room was still not clean. We simply walked across the hall and asked them for a few towels and told them to not bother coming at that point. They did mention they were still cleaning rooms, but we thought it awfully late to have an unclean room. Not a major issue, but it was unusual. Also, room 103 seems like it was a former large closet or something as it's oddly placed just off the lobby between main desk and the parking entrance. We came out of our room and another guest even said "that is a ROOM??!!" noting how odd it was in placement. The room was comfortable, beds were fine, bathroom was nice size, just hear all noise from the pool (as you're also directly above the swimming pool) until 10pm. Breakfast and dinner options were great. You can't find a bargain like that--the staff worked very hard to keep the food refreshed and were very pleasant. We will be back when returning to St. Louis--good experience for my first time there!
