"We had a wonderful time! The hotel is in a great location, a short drive into Kendal town centre. The gardens are lovely although it was a bit rainy so we didnt get to roam much! Check in was quick as we could do it online, reception team were lovely (the kids appreciated their activity packs!) Our room was clean and modern, comfy beds and beautiful bathroom. Also, we we were in the quiet area which was perfect. The pool was clean and warm, kids swim times which meant that we didnt feel as though we were disturbing the other swimmers. The gym is also well equipt and air conditioned. The bar area was good, the kids enjoyed their free lemonade! Breakfast was what you would expect, plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was fresh. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The accomodation was great but it was the little touches from the team that made the hotel stand out. We look forward to returning! "

"As a group of friends we have stopped here every year, its not for everyone and some reviews o have read have been unfair. The building is around 17th century, so thats unique on its own. Perfect location, the breakfast has always been good and the lady who runs it with her husband are friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was comfortable, dont expect the Ritz, its fantastic value, more money to spend on over priced meals in the local pubs. 6 of us stopped no complaints. We all get to stop in the same place so perfect. "
