Loved the hotel. The only things they could improve on is that No Cost WIFI could be offered to their guests and the hotel could have free parking since you need a car on the big island. Great location and from my room I even got to see the nightly luau. Had a great time.
We had made arrangements at another location but were very unsatisfied so went back to where we had stayed before at Hilo Hawaiian and had a very good stay. When I checked in I was given a room with 2 separate beds but had requested a king size bed. Calling down to the desk they had a nice king size bed room available and we had a great stay there. It was very comfortable and we were grateful for the a/c.
We stayed here just one night at the end of our vacation. I wish it had been longer! In terms of cleanliness, comfort and style it exceeded my modest expectations (I'm familiar with Courtyard by Marriott as more or less an airport hotel). The property was well-maintained, the pool was well-kept and the beach was delightful. Our room appeared to have been recently updated. It was immaculate. We appreciated the proximity of restaurants and shopping. I would not hesitate to recommend the King Kamehameha.
Mum and I stayed in the Africa Room for two nights while we were visiting the volcanoes national park. The common room was very comfortable and clean - I sat out here and used the computer and the sound of the pond water feature was very relaxing. It was also very well appointed with boardgames and comfortable chairs and tea and coffee facilities. The room itself was unique and is one of the hotels that stands out in my mind from my trip. The outdoor lanai with kitchen facilities was great. Very close to local resturants and quiet during the night. Loved the town of Volcano and can't wait to come back here again. I'd definitely stay at Chalet again.
