I stayed in the Ali'i Tower for a little less than two and a half weeks. The view was amazing to wake up to every morning! The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Never had issues of any nature with the housekeeping staff; they cleaned well and didn't mess with any of my things. The hotel is right next to a shopping center that has plenty of restaurants and a few stores. It's also just down the street from larger shopping centers with grocery stores and such, which made it an ideal location for me to stay at for my trip considering I didn't have a car. They have coin operated laundry machines on site which was nice. They also held a few shows throughout the nights (from fire spinning to hula dancers) which i could see from my balcony, so that was pretty sweet.
We had made arrangements at another location but were very unsatisfied so went back to where we had stayed before at Hilo Hawaiian and had a very good stay. When I checked in I was given a room with 2 separate beds but had requested a king size bed. Calling down to the desk they had a nice king size bed room available and we had a great stay there. It was very comfortable and we were grateful for the a/c.
"We enjoyed our stay and will return in two weeks"
First time to Kona. Your hotel is handy to walk to everything we wanted to see in the town. We are looking forward to the luau on Dec. 28th. Now we will see the rest of the Island and return to your hotel for our last three days.
Mum and I stayed in the Africa Room for two nights while we were visiting the volcanoes national park. The common room was very comfortable and clean - I sat out here and used the computer and the sound of the pond water feature was very relaxing. It was also very well appointed with boardgames and comfortable chairs and tea and coffee facilities. The room itself was unique and is one of the hotels that stands out in my mind from my trip. The outdoor lanai with kitchen facilities was great. Very close to local resturants and quiet during the night. Loved the town of Volcano and can't wait to come back here again. I'd definitely stay at Chalet again.
This Inn has it all. A beautiful drive thru local farms to get there, approx 15 min. From Hilo. A magnificent property with a waterfall, which lulls you to sleep. The inn is organized for people who love B & B's, but cherish their privacy. Our room had everything we wanted, king bed, tv,Internet, and even a welcoming small basket of fruit and macadamia nuts. The property has two trails which you can use and you can go for a swim in the pond at the base of the falls. Finally, the breakfast is the best we had on the island. It has just about everything you may want to eat
I should also add that the hosts invited all their guests to join their friends and family, free of charge for Thanksgiving dinner. We did not know this when we booked. It was a first for them, and we could all see all the work required to pull this off. It was a total success and the food was so delicious. Thank you for such a generous offer.
We booked last minute and it was easy. There were five of us and they gave us a 3 bedroom instead of the 2 bedroom we paid for. We loved the historic old plantation feel of it. They called ahead and gave us directions and made it feel very personable. Michael found church times for us.
