The perfect hotel for a mini-break in Belfast. It's right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of all the main attractions and a stone's throw from the Europa Bus Station and a dozen pubs. The ideal location! It's a newly-built hotel so everything is in excellent condition. Rooms are a good size and contain all the basic essentials. Beds are new and extremely comfortable. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. There's an on-site restaurant, which was much more expensive than other local eateries. Inexpensive, quality meals can be found within a short walk in any direction, so there's always a choice.
Belfast is a city recovering from troubled times. The tourist industry is helping their recovery. Many new hotels have opened in the last five years, but you'd go a long way to better the Travelodge.
Belfast is beautiful. It was one of the great stay experiences which I had until now. Nick and Kate (Actually all staff to whom I came across, but I can't remember everyone's name) at Reception were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a great quality. Housekeeping standards were good too. Bed was bit small and springy. Hotel is bit far from City Centre (15 mins walk or by Minicab) However, with the great service experience, it was worth to stay here. I am bit choosy to rate excellent, but this hotel deserved it.
Lovely room with a huge comfortable bed. Hotel character let down somewhat by a group of people smoking outside the front door and drinking their own cans of lager. We learnt that these were extras from the Game of Thrones being filmed in Belfast and clearly the account was worth a lot of money to the hotel. But a stricter attitude should have been taken. Later they were in the lounge area unsuitably dressed (shorts, dirty boots and woolly hats) and some of the language was unsavoury. The hotel is noted for its comforting and cosy lounge and log fire but this was spoilt.
Lovely breakfast though and very helpful staff.
We arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon and were able to park our car very easily. We were greeted by Thomas in a most friendly manner and he explained all we needed to know. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a meal in the restaurant from the homely and uncomplicated menu. The food was well cooked and very tasty, the house wine very acceptable and the service excellent. We also enjoyed a drink in the bar and the company of other guests. The room was pleasant to sit in, the television and heating controls both easy to use. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well the two nights we were there. A faulty bulb in the bathroom was replaced as soon as we reported it.The breakfasts were very tasty, easy to serve and and again the staff were most helpful. This hotel was new to us but we will return.
