I come to the area once or twice a year to visit friends, and have stayed in several local hotels. The Suncoast is by far my favorite. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and include a refrigerator and coffee maker. The buffet is outstanding, with a wide variety of excellent food at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's an arcade and bowling alley for the children or grandchildren. It's a long way from the Strip, of course, but they have a shuttle if you want to go there.
I was visiting someone who lives in Vegas, but a little bit of a way from the strip, so I wanted to get something closer to where she was. The Courtyard Marriott was a great hotel at a nice price. From the moment that I arrived, and throughout my stay, the staff was polite and courteous - they even helped me to find a store and a florist to get my lady friend a lovely Valentine's day bouquet.
The room was nice, big, and clean. The bed was so comfortable. We were there visiting family but we needed a relaxing get-away, as well, and this hotel did the trick. My husband, 5-month-old daughter, and I all slept soundly in the quiet and dark room. The breakfast was a little blah, but it did the trick I guess. One of the only annoying things was that the housekeeping came at 11:00 and we were still getting ready (with the do-not-disturb sign on the door)--we have an infant and we were enjoying some relaxation time in the morning--so they put a note under the door for us to call the front desk by 2:00 if we wanted it cleaned. I've never seen this before. At any other hotel I've been to, they automatically come back and check and the room is always cleaned without us having to ask for it. Another annoyance is that our keys got deactivated (this always happens to me for some reason) and when I went to the front desk the girl at the front desk was playing on her phone. Normally I would have gone to a cheaper hotel but this one is the closest to our family, so I think the service overall could be stepped up for the rate that we're paying. The hotel itself was in an excellent location and the room was great.

Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. Free breakfast was available with the area set up nicely, clean, food was good. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites at Red Rock Summerlin NV.
Located in the Spring Mountains’ foothills, Summerlin is a planned community once owned by eccentric mogul Howard Hughes. Northwest Las Vegas is a golfer’s haven: about a dozen courses are open to the public. The Las Vegas Art Museum is nearby, as is Red Rock Canyon. Protected from development, the canyon offers spectacular vistas accessible via a 30-mile hiking trail or a 13-mile scenic drive.
