guys if you are looking for a budget place in a very expensive Oslo then you should not look further. Pretty much right in a city center, supermarket (market rather than super) just round the corner, very pleasant ppl, clean rooms- unless you are really fussy and can't go around without 5 stars you will be happy. Enjoy your time in Norway xxx
"Close to the airport and a great buffet breakfast."
I choose Airport Motel & Apartment-Hostel mainly because of price and location to the Airport.
It being only a ten minute bus trip from the airport to the Hostel meant when I arrived late during the evening and left in the morning to and from Norway there was no stress. The S44 bus driver was helpful and the Hostel reception was open 24 hours. The staff were very helpful and stored my luggage, at no charge, for two nights while I travelled to Bergin. I had internet access in my room and also used the internet during my, long, beautiful buffet breakfast, which I also recommend. To get to Oslo city centre I caught the S44 bus back to the airport and then caught a twenty minute train ride to the city centre. A range of different people seem to stay at the Hostel. In the room there was a fridge and the TV had a English channel. A couple of times in the evening I watch old English comedy on You Tube.
The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was very clean. Despite there not being bathrooms in the individual rooms, I had no difficulty using the bathroom closest to me either in the evening or morning. My room was large and comfortable; and the location (directly across from the Swiss embassy, away from but close to downtown) was perfect--the bus stopped only about 100 m from the property.
the overall experience was good. The daytime hotel staff were knowledgeable about local attractions and facilities. However, the nighttime staff was not. Room was clean and well maintained. The location is almost unbelievable and everything was so close.
