"We were given a room that they must use in reserve, the room was sub par. The door had a huge gap on the bottom where anyone could lay on the floor and look in. The shower curtain was missing and the soap dispenser in the shower fell apart. I wouldn't recommend staying there ever again."

"There is a reason this hotel is an expensive. Quite shabby, no real amenities just two paper cups in the room. The shampoo just would not foam up. The pool area is sparse with really worn out and stained furniture. You have to go to the desk to get a towel and you get a small thin towel. The breakfast is barely adequate. There were things often not stocked, you had to ask for them. We upgraded from a standard room to a suite because the standard room was just way too small ehven for two nights. Again it was very inexpensive and there was a reason for that. Much of the staff did not speak English. Got a box of Praisinerres from vending g machine. It was open and melted into a lump. Went to desk, they offered me other candy. Which turned out to be partially melted as well."

"Had a great stay, last week, at the Simmons. Smack in the middle of Chocolate Ave, minutes walking distance to great food, shops, Hidden Still distilling right behind the hotel and Yah brewing. And for the price, you just can beat the value. There is so much history behind the Simmons. You just don't see family-owned motels anymore. Sandy at the front desk was most helpful. It was an easy check in. She was very knowledgeable of places to eat and things to do near by. Looking forward to our next stay there!"

"The hotel was okay. Parking is limited. There was a pervasive mildew smell in the hallways and there were multiple fans running to circulate air. The room was clean, beds were firm, bathroom was decent sized-didn’t have to crawl over the toilet to access the tub. There was a mini fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. Breakfast was very limited-would have been better to go buy breakfast."
