We chose this hotel because it was central, right on a canal, and the previous reviews were favourable. Our flight was due in to Amsterdam very early and check in time was 14:00 but Rachel said we could drop off our bags and check in later, which is what we did. When we checked in Rachel was very welcoming. Our room was lovely and bright, having windows on two sides, and the end suite was quite luxurious - recently fitted, I think. The bed was very comfortable and bigger than I expected, having booked a double. Everything was very clean and there were some lovely touches such as fresh flowers, complimentary soft drinks in the fridge and even a couple of beers. Breakfast was relaxed and there was an extensive choice - lovely fresh bread, cheeses and ham, croissants, eggs done whichever way you like them, bacon and real fresh coffee. Rachel even has soya milk available. I was really surprised how quiet the hotel was at night despite being so central and next to a canal. We did have a room at the back of the hotel, so perhaps that had something to do with it. There was the odd shout, etc but that was all. We had a lovely stay at this hotel and I would certainly recommend it.

The apartment is unbelievable! Everything is modern and clean, we were amazed considering the price as it wasn't too much more than most hostels. Would highly recommend for any couples, the only issue was that we didn't spend enough time there. Would like to thank katrien for having us in her beautiful apartment :)

I stayed two nights at Hotel Clemens and it was an excellent stay! Sometimes you get more than you paid for, and this was one of those times. The staff was friendly and always helpful although there was little I needed that wasn't already provided. Clean, comfortable, quiet room, and actually good size for European standards. There is a long, narrow staircase to get to the lobby and rooms but the staff was right there to carry my bags up and down, so don't worry about that as long as you can get yourself up and down. I have already recommended this hotel to friends who will be visiting Amsterdam.

This hotel met my needs wonderfully. The room is small but had everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and offer good recommendations on things to do in Amsterdam. The location is nice; close to the attractions in the centre but also a short walk from other neighbourhoods as well.

I stayed at this hotel when I was travelling on my own in Amsterdam. It was absolutely lovely, great interior, clean and quiet room, friendly staff and great location. I highly recommend it. Just know you will have to use the relatively small and steep stairs, but this is not worth not staying here.

As a group of three we stayed at the Hotel Parklane and found it to be excellent for our needs, well located, great standard of accommodation and with nice breakfast. We stayed in Room 12 on the top floor - staircase was steep but no real problem. Wifi could was a little intermittent in our room but fine downstairs. Overall it proved a great base for our long weekend tour of Amsterdam.
